There are a lot of new roofs in the neighborhood. On our walk yesterday we were wandering by one of the houses we don’t normally walk by (only on hot days in the summer, it is a shadier path overall). As we came around the slight bend towards our street, I looked up and saw the moon. It isn’t a great picture framed by the trees, and you can’t see much, but it is the moon! I don’t know why I am so entranced by the moon, other than the fact that I was a huge NASA fan growing up. Oh yeah and that every launch, every step every moment of NASA early on I got to hang out with my dad and enjoy the experience with him. NASA and IU Basketball were the two big things we watched or listened to (back then not all Basketball games were televised some were on the radio only).
Anyway, looking up yesterday I saw the moon.
Now you see the moon.
Funny how that works!

This is so beautiful! It has been cloudy here.
It has been raining here since the day I took that picture. Perhaps, the rain was my fault!
Tonight, I see the moon near me, but it’s also near you as I read this post.
Funny how that works!
The question I always ask is not, can you see the moon where you are, but do you in fact stop and look each night as you see the new face?
Hmmm… Not every night I look at the moon, but every time I have a chance to sit on the back porch, it’s usually just the month that I see.
I think starting in July 1969 and since then, I look watch and wonder at the moon every time I am outside when it is dark!
Wow! Every night since then you always watch the moon?
Wow!
Yes, I do miss a few nights from time to time, but since my dad died I make a point every night to look up at the moon. He was the one that got me started on my love of astronomy.
That is a great commitment, Coach.
