Norway in early September-2017: holidays, festivals, sports

September 2017 in Norway will be marked by many annual festive, entertaining and sport events represented by cities and municipalities of Norway. Let’s find out about the most interesting activities.

Music festivals and concerts 

The universe of the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg in Bergen: lunchtime (till 30 September) and evening (till 3 September) concerts at his old villa Troldhaugen. These amazing concerts are combined with guided tours of beautiful Edvard Grieg’s home.

All fans of blues are invited to Ørskog Bluesfest – till 2 September – really great blues adventure for everyone!

The sounds of chamber music will wait you on…charming old lighthouse! Welcome to International Chamber Music Festival at Lindesnes Lighthouse – 1-3 September.

For all lovers of organ music – free organ concerts in Kristiansand Domkirke – till 6 September.

Cool street art 

Dizzying Norwegian Nuart Festival in Stavanger will represent masterpieces of the local and international street artists. Unusual bright creations on city’s walls – all for your excellent mood! The festival will last until 3 September.

Sport events

Speed and the ocean of emotions – it is Rudskogen Motorfestival in Rakkestad – 2-3 September.

The famous annual Oslo Marathon will take place in the city centre. The distances are: 10 km and 3 km. The date of event: 16 September.

Delicious food 

What is Bergen Matfestival/Food Festival? It is an abundance of fragrant fruits and berries, dairy products, delicacies made from meat and fish, delicious cakes and other amazing dishes. The location is the Bryggen, which is familiar to so many tourists; time of event – 1-3 September.

Equally tasty festival will be held in Ryfylke – welcome to the Norwegian Fruit and Salmon Festival – 1-2 September.
