What cheerful summer mini-festivals are expected in the Kingdom of Denmark? There will be a lot of events, easily accessible for everyone. Let me tell you about some of them (possibly, the most interesting and unusual).
Really fascinating walks with the Night watchmen: till September 1 – Haderslev, till August 25 – Ringsted, till August 27 – Faaborg, till August 14 – Ebeltoft, till August 31 – Ribe, till July 31 – Kerteminde, till August 31 – Odense, till August 31 – Ærø.
Different Viking events (battles, markets and so on) – 10-16 July – Rødding, 28-30 July – Højbjerg.
Medieval amusements (knigts battles, workshops, markets and so on) – 15-23 July – Dronninglund, 24-29 July – Spøttrup, 4-6 August – Nysted.
Yummy and romantic Kerteminde Cherry Festival – 15-17 July. Cherry cake competition is included in program!
The charming Rose Festival in Bogense – 5-6 August.
Culinary festivals dedicated to seafood (mackerel, lobster, herring and so on) – 3-5 August – Hirtshals, 5 August – Gilleleje, 5 August – Læsø, 12 August – Roslev, 18-20 August – Odde.
What will surely delight your children? Colorful parade of fairy tale characters by Hans Christian Andersen in Odense – till 5 August, 18-19 August, 21-25 August.
And, finally, let’s list some grandiose events – Shakespeare Festival – 1-23 August – Helsingør, Odense International Film Festival – 28 August-3 September, Esbjerg International Chamber Music Festival – 17 August-3 September.

UC Irvine had an annual medieval faire, but I don’t think they do it anymore.
I see… If they don’t do it anymore, maybe Scandinavian medieval fests are what you need.
