Expo ’92, Seville

The Universal Exposition is an event known worldwide. In the year 1992 it took place in Seville, Spain. It lasted from Monday, April 20 until Monday, October 12. The name of the Expo was ”Exposición Universal de Sevilla 1992” while the theme was ”The Age of Discovery”. Over a hundred countries were represented, 112 to be precise, which was considered one of the biggest and most important events that took place in this city, even until today.

The exposition place covered an area of 215 hecares on the Isla de la Cartuja, a place away from the busy center of Seville. The number of the visitors reached 41, 814, 571 people. It wass organizes by Manuel Olivencia.

The buildings of the Expo, known as ‘the City of the Future’ as well, were supposed to be temporary. However, even though you barely see a tourist there, the place turned into an amazing science and educational park.
