There are many different things that you can do from home if you are a stay at home mom, dad or even a teenager that is graduating high school and getting ready for college. You can work right on your computer when you are looking for a job outside of the home or if you are ready to be your own boss. Here’s a few work from home options that you may love.

Freelancer

You can become a freelancer and do anything from writing to proofreading. You can sign up for many different sites just like this one or one that lists jobs by many different clients that want you to do a job for them. Here is an example if you were to sign up for upwork.com you will see different clients offering you money for a one time task or an ongoing one. You will see anything from writing articles, books, or news to entering data into a spreadsheet. There are a lot of things you can do as a freelancer because you are your own boss and can charge by the hour or by milestone.

Virtual Assistant 

There are many sites that are in need of virtual assistants. You can find many sites that will hire virtual assistants and pay you for your experience. Being a virtual assistant is a great job and you can do everything from home especially if you find a client that will pay you to drive to the post office to mail items or fax items to other places. There are many things that a virtual assistant can do and sometimes you won’t have to move anywhere you can just do everything from your home computer.

Proofreader 

If you are a great proofreader and editor then you can get a job online doing this job for many different people. You can proofread papers and even edit them in order to make them look better. There are many sites that will take you through different aspects of training or none at all so that you can become a proofreader and get paid for your experience. If you would like to get paid for your experience then make sure that you find a site that will take your degree or your certifications at hand.

Tutor

You can be a tutor if you feel the need to help others. Tutoring is all over the internet and you can do this without having a certification but many sites may want you to have a degree or some type of experience in the area that you are trying to tutor. If you are in need of a tutoring job then look around google to see what you can find or you can go to sites like indeed or article sites that may give you a few pointers.

Counseling (certification needed)

When it comes to counseling online you have to be certified and make sure that you know what you are doing. Online counselors are great and people are happy to have one so that they won’t have to leave their homes. Many sites don’t hire unless you are a certified psychologist or counselor that can talk to people and even try to refer people to someone that can prescribe medications. If you have a certified license to practice try and see what sites will give you a chance to use your skills to help others.

When you are ready to work from home there are a lot of jobs that you can find and do when it comes to working from home. There are a lot more jobs that you can do from home that is not listed so make sure that you be careful when it comes to working from home. There are companies that can take advantage of you and that are scams so make sure that you know what to look for when it comes to looking for work at home companies and clients to work for. If you sign up for a company or site that pays you once you are done with your work remember to work within that site and not through paypal or something like that because you can risk the chance of getting scammed. If you work for upwork then work through upwork and not on PayPal because you can’t file against the client if they refuse to pay you or scam you. Remeber that just because you are on a legit site does not mean that there are not scammers there lurking. Have fun and remember to use a resume when applying if needed.
