The 1899 Business Model – 8

It is vital that if there is some kind of Board that they authorise their officers to exercise the power of that office.

The hiring of a manager must be carefully done, but once it is done, the Board must stand down.

To nit pick, micro manage, ask too many questions demotivates a manager.

As bad as it to have a cleaner who sleeps, it is worse to have a Manager who hides in an office.

If, after three months the Board is dissatisfied with the Manager, then, assuming the Board had the intelligence to have a 3 month ‘assessment’ period, which allows the Manager to be discharged, then so it goes.

If the Manager has performed well, then a two year contract is given.

In this way ‘complacency’  does not exist.
