Ms Reid knew she was competent, perhaps the best of her profession. She was phoned by a major client. Knowing what the call was about, she acted somewhat distracted and unable to meet when convenient to the client.
She assumed he’d call again.
He didn’t.
After completing the call to Ms Reid he hung up and dialed Ms Robbins. She was polite,, interested, and adjusted her schedule to suit him.
He gave her the lucrative task and she made bags of money, was considered the best in her field. Of course, Ms Reid made nothing and was forgotten.
