.Ignoring Lily was so widespread, so common she could be invisible.
Just as no one knew if she was in class or not, none of her co-workers were aware of her location.
Lily simply didn’t exist in other people’s minds.
She wasn’t scorned or spoken about or given a cold shoulder. Lily did not exist.
If she was by the water fountain or coffee urn, copier or elevator, people waited until she was gone before approaching.
If people were talking and she approached they continued talking or began moving away.
She didn’t see other people so was not aware of that their reaction was unusual.
Lily was unaware she didn’t exist in other people’s eyes.
the story just makes me sad, and angry. well done!
It is just a few more chapters… it was inspired by a real person.
sometimes those are the best stories of all, part real
I don’t dive into pure fictions; not even when I write sci-fi
sometimes we have to be based on reality when we right (at least a little)
That is how to get the foundation; you get something real and then relate it, adding what is necessary to make sense.
we just have to be careful. I have been accused to writing about a former member of this site many times. I can honestly say I just did in this comment. other than that I haven’t in more than 2 years.
