Mike is an abusive man who is the Boss From Hell.
His staff hate him. They have developed methods to not work. They take ‘forever’ to do something that could easily be completed in a half hour.
Dale, developing this unwork strategy reasoned that she would be paid for eight hours and strove to do as little work as possible in those eight hours.
To fill the time she played games online, spent hours on social media. She knew to erase her history before she left. Knew to insure she did not have her passwords saved.
Dale, as any employee who works for a Boss from Hell, set up her protocols so that each day she would rigorously keep to her schedule of trying to work no more than three hours a day.
This kind of clock watching, this kind of almost compulsive need to match the pattern she created was a coping mechanism. It also was detrimental to her sense of self.
