Monsanto could possibly file for bankruptcy

<a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" data-snax-placeholder="Source" class="snax-figure-source" href="https://geneticliteracyproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/roundup_monsanto_bayer_merger_1800.jpg" target="_blank">https://geneticliteracyproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/roundup_monsanto_bayer_merger_1800.jpg</a>

Due to the over 40,000 court cases that are being prepared to be litigated this year across the globe against Monsanto, the agricultural company could possibly file bankruptcy to avoid paying the estimated billions of dollars to plaintiffs who contracted cancer from using their weedkiller called RoundUp.

Last year, judges in three cases against Monsanto in California passed verdicts that called for the corporation owned by Bayer to pay out around two billion dollars.  However, Monsanto has not paid a dime as of yet because all three lawsuits have been appealed.

Monsanto can continue to kick the can down the road, but if Monsanto is forced to file bankruptcy, then they would not be able to have their pesticides sprayed all over the Americas.
