Event planning or management is now career worth considering. In this regard, it is also necessary to broaden your mind when thinking about this career. There is seems to a considerable number of people who equate event planning with wedding planning. It is however a job that goes beyond mere wedding planning and involves all manner of events ranging from humanitarian aid conferences to rock concerts.

As a first step you may consider getting a degree or diploma in the following fields

A certification program such as Certified Special Events Professional can also come in handy.

Another very important requirement for this career is passion. Without a deep passion for this field you will soon lose steam. You will also be on your feet a lot of the time and so you must be up for it. On top of this there is the pressure because in event management, everything has to fall in place timeously. If any of the pieces of the puzzle fall off, the whole event or other events that follow it will be in jeopardy.
