Bayer Shares Plummet As Lawsuits Over Roundup Have Doubled

source

When Bayer bought Monsanto for $63 billion dollars back in July 2018, it was one of the biggest mergers in history.  Bayer is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world was connecting with one of the biggest agribusinesses in the world.  The plan for this merger was to revolutionize the efficiency of agriculture around the globe.

However, Bayer’s stock has dropped from $31.53 per share all the way down to the current price of $19.74.  The reason this merger could now go down as possibly the worst merger in history is because there has been over 40,000 lawsuits filed against them due to people contracting cancer after the use of the weedkiller Roundup.  The cases have doubled over the past six months.
