Natural hair lightening can be a long and demanding process, but if you want to achieve a few shades of lighter color without treating your hair with different chemicals, you can also use some natural methods to give your hair tones similar to those you have in the summer under the influence of UV- air, and sometimes even brighter.

Your natural hair pigment , the depth of current color, and the quality of the products you have treated so far play a big part in achieving a lighter shade .

You should always be careful about lightening your hair . Getting lighter color will be easier if you have lighter hair and golden  yellow pigment , while darker or red pigment may have side (or no) side effects .

Many of the things you already have in your household can serve as a great substitute for expensive commercial preparations, for this purpose the most commonly used are lemon , chamomile , honey and cinnamon, and combinations thereof .

Lemon Hair Lightening

Washing your hair with lemon juice is the most famous natural way to lighten your hair. If you choose this method you will need fresh lemon (or two if you have longer hair), a pump bottle , strainer or gauze and plenty of sun .

Squeeze the lemon and then mix the juice with half a cup of warm water ( 1: 1 ratio or less in favor of the lemon). Pour the solution into the pump vial so you can apply it evenly to your hair.

Sun exposure is crucial with this method , so step outside and let your hair dry slightly . When completely dry, rinse with water . You can also use chamomile tea instead of water to achieve more effective results.

Lemon may be useful for the hair, but if used too often, it can cause drying and damage to the hair, making it dry, brittle and lifeless. Therefore, it is important that you do not use this more often than once or twice a week .

Also, try to feed your hair as much as possible with packs or hair masks to keep it healthy and nourished , as the lemon will certainly dry it to some extent.

Chamomile hair lightening

You can naturally lighten your hair by applying stronger chamomile tea to it.

The soothing properties of chamomile are great for delicate blonde hair , and will have an intense shine thanks to its natural properties . In addition, chamomile flowers contain apigenin – a flavonoid yellow that further brightens the hair.

Chamomile care products are suitable for every type of hair and for daily care.

To lighten your hair with camomile, pour 2-3 cups of flowers with 500 ml boiling water and simmer gently for 15 minutes . Allow the tea to cool for half an hour, then strain it and add the juice of one lemon and two tablespoons of conditioner . Apply to your hair and leave for half an hour and then rinse.

If you can’t buy chamomile flowers, plain tea can be served , twice as strong as you normally would.

Lightening your hair with honey

Hair lightening with honey gives truly excellent results . If you choose this method you will need two large tablespoons of honey and half a cup of warm distilled water . Dark or forest honey is recommended, and meadow honey has shown good results .

You can add one large tablespoon of extra virgin olive   or coconut oil and two teaspoons of cinnamon to this solution , the purpose of which is to stimulate the production of hydrogen peroxide so that the hair is lightened successfully. Hydrogen peroxide is naturally found in honey, and with the long-term use of this pakung, it brightens the hair naturally.

Leave the mixture at room temperature for about an hour  to create peroxide, then apply it to your hair for an hour . It is important to note that the hair must be wet throughout the treatment , so it should be protected with a shower cap or aluminum foil. After an hour, wash your hair with shampoo .

Honey also nourishes your hair so you don’t have to fear drying out. The hair will be silky and smooth and you can expect noticeably lighter tones after a few treatments

Cinnamon hair lightening

Cinnamon is often used in the household as a spice , and lately as an excellent hair preparation. Properly applied, you can achieve excellent results in lightening your hair, leaving it moisturized and soft.

We mentioned the combination of honey and cinnamon in the previous recipe, but given that there are several methods of preparing the mixture, we give an alternative to the previous method.

Put 250 ml of regenerator, three tablespoons of previously milled cinnamon and 100 ml of natural honey in a medium sized bowl . Mix the ingredients well with a plastic spoon . Do not use metal, as some metals may react negatively with the ingredients of the mixture. Cover the pan and leave it for 30 minutes at room temperature.

Wash your hair with a classic shampoo and conditioner, then apply the mixture evenly to your hair. As with the previous method, it is important that the hair is wet. Dermatologists point out that applying cinnamon to the skin can have a negative effect and cause an allergic reaction , skin dryness , irritation , blisters and burns . If you want to apply this method of lightening your hair, ask your loved one to grease your hair, avoiding putting the mixture directly on the scalp or touching the skin on the back, hands, etc.

Do not hold the mixture for a long time on the hair (for an hour at most ) and make sure you are satisfied with the results. If you have sensitive skin or have noticed an allergic reaction , do not practice this method again. After treatment, rinse your hair with warm water under a strong jet.
