I have been preparing for this quit for two weeks. I have patches, gum, and inhalers. I probably won’t use any of them, but they are there. I have lists of topics to research and write articles and posts about. Mainly to keep my mind occupied. I have lists of chores around the house to do, to keep myself physically busy if I need to. I will start a new ticker on Quit Train to keep track of the hours and money saved. There are helpful folks there to talk to as well.
I tend to obsess over smoking when I try to quit. So I will just have to deal with it the best I can. I also tend to have higher anxiety and hallucinations when I try to quit. I become manic and have insomnia. These are all things I need to just DEAL WITH, and push through.
It has been almost an hour since I smoked my last cigarette. I have mentally adjusted to quit mode. I will celebrate when I have completed my sixth day. I haven’t been able to make it past five days so far. This is my sixth or seventh attempt in eight months. I am determined to make this work. I have a lot of third chakra work to do.
Many years ago I spent a summer becoming a certified drug educator. Quitting cigarettes is really hard. Keep going, you can do it!
