Filtering out the bull crap

When my life gets cluttered, I can always count on a run to help me filter out the bull crap in my life. And when I say bull crap, I’m meaning the redundant things that hold me back from accomplishing the goals I’m pursuing in life. I like to say that when I have started my day with a run, it is like I’m wearing a shielded vest that reflects anything that comes my way.

As for this run, I took a moment during it to scout out a new route that I will be running sometime this week which may put me around the 1.5 mile mark, I estimate. Though I felt good enough to go longer, I had to gauge my responsibilities this morning to keep my run within a reasonable time in order to make my commitments. And as a seasoned runner, I am quite aware that a short run can make me feel just as good as a long run.

  1. Another place I’ve been, I have to say I really miss running. But you are right, a short run or a long run help emotionally and physically. There is that release of endorphins that make everything better!
