Just bloggin’: I am only human, I do have accidents

Today I started my car up and got out to scrape the ice off my windshield and must have accidently hit the lock on the door. Highlight of my morning, but thankfully, I had the cash to pay a locksmith to come out, and thankfully, I was near a café in my neighborhood. I walked in with my windshield scraper in hand and requested to use the phone to call a locksmith because I had locked my phone inside too with the car running.

I could not help but to smile and laugh while waiting on the locksmith to get to me at the café, which took an hour and thirty minutes due to traffic. Plenty of time to assess and laugh at the situation, plus I kept wondering where in the hell was this locksmith coming from because he took forever. You would think that they would contact someone near you, but they do not! It seemed like this guy was coming from Chicago Heights or maybe even from somewhere in Wisconsin because it seemed like he would never get to the café, but maybe that was because I had somewhere to be.

One song that I had stuck in my head was “Ain’t it fun” by Paramore, which is another reason why I smiled while thinking of the lyrics and beat. In situations like this, I cannot help, but to realize that I am only human, and yes, I have accidents! Accidents have to happen, or you would not learn from those accidents to try and prevent them from happening again. The situation could have been worse because I could have had no gas in my car, or it could have happened early in the morning with few businesses open. I joked with the employee at the café and mentioned that it would have been interesting if I were not near the café and had to knock on someone’s door or flag someone down requesting to use a phone to call a locksmith. Yes! That would have been interesting because Chicago is a piece of work at times, and there are people out there that would do this by means of preying on someone innocent to rob them. In that situation, it would have been a pure blessing being able to flag down a good citizen to assist me with this, but thankfully the café was near, so I did not have to deal with a headache like that.
