WIP for bokur

I want to do a bokur raising a zombie. This will be a challenge in composition but before I even attempt that part I have to work out her look and wardrobe, so this is my design for the bokur. Please continue reading for more commentary on the process, or just skip down to the rough sketch (whichever way works best for you)

#1 work in progress

This is a very loose treatment, uncertain if this is the style I will use in the final but it is certainly interesting. May not fit the look and feel needed for the final version, however...

#2 underpainting

This is a value study for the bokur and as you can see she is literally working with both hands (but that isn't what the term means)

#3 test render for skull fetish

This skull fetish looks great in the test render but when I bring it into the scene with the light rig I used above it gets far too dark so I might have to change the materials or the rig. I expect that I'll end up trying both just to play it safe...

  I read a lot. A whole lot. Also I talk to people who inspire me, the internet is my reference library and I binge watch netfilx when I have a render going. But most of my inspiration comes from books…
