when she sees a luxury item in my hand
in a sarcastic manner
that this is best taken by rich and filthy rich
hidden behind her sarcasm
is an implication
that it is she who is filthy rich
and the guy is shallow
that I saw the item in his hand
we agreed with her,
though we were hiding that item
yet she tiptoed and gawked
got jealous and made the comment
but when we look at her life
a laugh escaped us
is this rich
not to talk about filthy rich
a small shop
in a suburban town
father involved full time
a decrepit old concrete home
using aluminum utensils of the cheapest kind
eating food barely above
the standard of beggars
she works her body
for extras
like a mobile handset
or a modern gadget
and she openly claims her prime profession
even her fancy clothes come from clients
what a life
what a wealth
we are better off
without
happy with a luxury item or two
and, yeah, let her gawk on sly
and take the above jibe
she is entitled to that
though one day
she may pay the price
for taking personal liberty
from a person unknown.
