This pine
is where grasslands stood
all around
carrying its straight shade
as it lengthened with the day
after a tiresome walk
in that green
exhausted
and thirsty for water
we looked all over
and found the brook
but steps were tough
undulations tough
a little plateau
and then a steep up
but then we were
so water struck
that we had to trudge
you and me began that
till we came to the water flush
there was that cul cul sound
as crystal clear ran aground
a few rocks
smooth and fine
we sat on one
and in our palms
we took
life inside the mouth
sun set on horizon
and we were yet alive!
When I saw the word “pine”, I could not pass up… A romantic and beautiful poem. I especially love relic pine trees.
