what was the mask hiding?
It seems ill-fitting now,
not conformed rather
a loose array of fabric
a smile pasted on.
A moment if you would
a moment of what
once was to be
but now no more
is wound around the bottle
in which
once a ship
now empty
floats
a message inside
ice cream melts
memories fade
the mask is forever.
Some person says old is gold…
