Let Mary in on playing a joke

about something that isn’t entirely true

Just to see what loose lips will do…

So Mary using a lisp told Susan

things in private about so & so

Susan whispered in confidence

to Thelma about stuff she had heard…

Thelma couldn’t keep it to herself

so she let Louise and Loretta know

The humming birds continued

to sow rumours from their group…

In a little while cacophony spread

like wild fire through out the town

Now the whole town is gossiping

adding flavour to the vibes

about so & so

and who did and said what…

Philip ‘the joker’ now concludes

that because gossip loves gossip,

it is more common

that human nature prefers the lie

without seeking the evidence of truth
