scifi surfaces expanded – WIP

in a previous installment, I posted some surface tests. while I feel that I was quite clear that they were just surfaces applied to a primitive for ease of rendering, there still seems to be some confusion about the process so I will attempt to clear that up

something like this is just quick to render and I can read all the info I need from this, and see what needs to be adjusted

but of course, I can't just do a raw render. I reflexively add postwork to everything

    • I try to avoid things that annoy me. I can’t avoid all of them, but even cutting out all the petty annoyances in my life leaves me with a lot more patience to deal with the things I must

I forgot that I can flip the texture, which would've been great here. right now it is messing with her face

now I've applied it to a cube, and then applied a tactile pavement surface to a plane so there is a floor...
