My Poetry: Part 1

Another kind of art I enjoy doing is writing poetry. That is actually the kind of art that I started with. I started writing poetry in High School. I would write poems in class after I got finished with a test or assignment.  Sometimes in English class I would take the vocabulary list and write a poem using those words.

When I wrote poetry, sometimes I would listen to music as inspiration.  That was probably when I wrote the most poetry.  I also wrote some lyrics, I don’t know if I have those saved anywhere though.

I came out with a book of poetry that I published through Lulu.  It didn’t do too well unfortunately (but I have never been good at selling things).

I would love to know your thoughts on my poems. I always appreciate constructive criticism.

  5. Hi Courtney, I love your poems … especially Sweet Dreams. Peter and I are really far apart a lot of the time. Indonesia and Germany, how’s that for a really LONG distance … and yes, we are still together after seven years. 🙂

  6. Writing or reading poetry is a particular interest that not everyone likes. I have also liked to write poetry for a long time, and lately I have chosen to write poetry to convey “hidden wisdom” ideas that are hard to write in essays because they can invite unnecessary debates, or because they have no representation in the language so Can only be revealed through the parables.
    As with your poems, I capture powerful emotions in addition to messages from the main idea. Poetry is able to hold so many messages that if written in essay or letter can be very long, and your poetry proves it.
