POC for Another World

So it is time for me to do another homage to one of my favorite artists. Actually, as it turns out this piece is informed by two different artists, so I’ll be straddling the shoulders of two giants this time. If I’m going to be honest, most of my pieces contain elements and decisions that were influenced by any number of artists because I don’t live in a vacuum and often try to see if I can’t duplicate an effect that I like

At any rate, I’m going to document the entire process here; spread across several posts until the piece is complete. Please look forward to it!

#1 wardrobe test

Just trying to get the right look and feel for her wardrobe. This isn't it, but I didn't know that until I did the render... She isn't meant to be a stand alone character, but merely part of a composition and as such her appearance will be dictated by the needs of the piece as a whole

#2 sneak preview

An overly warm preview. Rest assured that I will not be using that nasty color for the stonework, but I plan to steal a page from Barlowe and use that porous slate grey rock he loves to do and does so well

Can you guess where she is based on the architecture? I would be most impressed if you could, but don't feel bad if you can't. This view is so obscure the architect might not even recognize his own design...
