My First Wood-Carving Project

I got a wood-carving tool years ago. The picture of of hanging grapes.

I think I used these items:

A plain wooden board bought from a craft store, charcoal and gold paint of some kind. I may have used something else but not too sure. I still have it, and it makes me want to try to try another wood-carving project very soon. I was planning to put some designs into it using a wood-burning kit but I was not able to get one as I was making this. I got the tool for wood burning designs a month after

You must be careful when using a wood-carving tool. It gets extremely hot when it is heated up. Do not apply too much pressure until you are sure it needs that much. I did that, and then the spot I had applied the pressure to immediately start looking too black on one spot.

You might want to try different pressures on a scrap piece of wood first. Then the real thing will turn out much better. This is fun to do, but remember “Safety First.”
