The artworks in this Gallery relate to my attempts to create images that might reference Time Travel / Memories / Dreams / Art History. Slices of events appear captured in transparent boxes or screens.

Art History Boxes

This work is different way of presenting/capturing some of the elements used in other works in this Gallery.

The boxes contain multiple pieces of artworks of mine in which I have significantly changed the content. For example, in the left hand box there are a number of self portraits based on self portraits by artists like Rembrandt, Frans Hals and Van Gogh etc. They might be souvenirs of my travels through time. The boxes might be display items in a Time Travel Museum collection.

When I thought about Vermeer... references paintings by the 17thC Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, one of my favourite artists. All the imagery relates to works by Vermeer that I have significantly changed by adding new content that significantly changes the original narrative of each work.

Dutch Masters is a brand of cigars. The image you can see on the screens started as a reinterpretation of a Rembrandt group painting of merchants. I changed all of the original heads in Rembrandt's painting to the heads of Dutch artists e.g. Van Gogh and Mondrian etc.

A Night's Dreams attempts to capture slices of dreams. Dreams that might occur during one night. A way of collecting memories of dreams that, when we wake up, we frequently forget.

An earlier version of the work by the same name above - in this version, the dream slices are not presented in a box.

The idea here is based on a question: If Marcel Duchamp were alive today and could access and digital image manipulating media, what might he make. He might make something that looks like this artwork.

This work relates to the concept of the phrase 'The Elephant in the Room' - a topic that in e.g. a discussion/meeting is very important but is not mentioned, albeit it that it should. Another version of this elephant shows it 'walking on water' inside a Christian church - look hard and you can see it here. Why would an elephant walk on water in a church and what might that relate to...?

In ancient Greece the god of gods was called Abraxas. Abraxas took the form of a horse. This work is what might be seen in a futuristic exhibition about the 'Gods of Ancient Greece'.
