Marijke Akkers-Kersten – 06-11-17

My mother and I visited the Mauritshuis at The Hague, Netherlands where she leaned over in order to look outside to the Hofvijver and I recognized a Vermeer painting in it: same lighting and lots of wooden framing around her. I liked to portray her because after all, she is my mother and a great model to put into my roundish style.

Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Lana Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) – A4 format)

Artist: Corné Akkers
