The day you told me you loved me

it took me by surprise

but before I could tell you I felt the same

you disappeared without a trace

then you reemerged

like a gift from the heavens blessing my life again

two souls that are inseparable

I’m down when you’re down.

I’m happy when you’re happy.

I’ll always wish the best for you

regardless if it is with me or not

my life hasn’t been the same since you touched it

and I need you in it for better or worse

I want you to fight, to survive,

to aspire, to dream,

to live, and to love

I’m here no matter what, no matter when,

in whatever way you may need me

the day I thought you were gone forever,

on a journey with the angels,

I felt my heart burst into pieces and shatter to the floor

why does it take such profound loss

to appreciate what you have right in front of you

and now I finally have the chance to tell you

that I feel the same.
