The vehicle that Cath had seen
sped away with JR in it
and there sat
two burlesque men
both in long overcoats
with collars drawn
and eye to the count of one
black patched;
they carried
sophisticated
firearms
which were kept on the seat
up in the front.
One man was on wheel
and the other was besides, snickering
the vehicle made moves
rather at speeds
not allowed on such roads.
They growled and spoke
as their six feet and over
frames shook with
dry laughs
every now and then.
Each one of them
freed one arm
every now and then
in some gesture of some kind
and even under a long overcoat
one could see they
were strong musclemen.
