They think a poet
is soft target
and he is so involved
in art
that he is lost
to reality
so while he pens
words which they applaud
and under the tonic
he writes more
and more
and they involve his time
and more and more
he would forget
and they would
on sly
tonsure him right
snipe his pockets
and reduce him
to a plight
then say,
what a sight
how are your works
poet laureate
you now stand
in sun bright
and laugh
Oh! my honey pot
cum mata hari work is done
and all deadlines are gone
now no question on us
and I am free
but do you know
something much more
serious is around
this poet
is also a lawyer
and while he was busy
playing your game your way
he was singing another song
quite removed from your sight
now is the time
that he is putting on a weighing
scale all of your cow dung
and what is coming
would leave you near numb
when you are stung !
