Ground Earth Powder Paints – Art materials

My husband Warwick had inherited these paints from an artist friend about 20 years ago. These are the paints and I believe that they came from Germany.

Now I’ve experience creating some paints from using these paints. Water colour, acrylics, oil paints, acrylic, and egg tempora. I am sure there yet may be other mediums of paints that I have not yet tried.

They are toxic and to use them you need to wear gloves and a face mask, best to use a respirator, as you don’t want any of it on your body, as they are lead based. I suggest you go outside to use them.

You will need respirator, gloves, a glass surface for mixing and something to grind the paints with first.

Without saying too much more, I have put these on sale on Trade Me NZ. I think as I have not used them, another person in need could make use of these. With the price of paints, using these may save expense of buying expensive paints. Providing you are careful with the use of these you are safe.

  1. Back in the Renaissance they made paint that way, with the same or similar materials. But they didn’t take all the precautions you’re indicating. Makes you wonder…
