From My Sketchbook-Earring Girl

I found a book at the thrift store called “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”. I’ve been doing the drawing exercises for a few days now, and I think I’ve actually made some improvement. I still suck and have a long way to go, but I have a little hope that I will be able to draw well at some point in the future.

I want to start drawing animals, to take a break from faces and I think it will be a benefit to practice shading more. I tried a bunny yesterday and he turned out pretty bad. I am really bad at shading and I need a lot more practice. Thing is, I’m not sure how to do it right. I guess I will have to find a book on it, watch tutorials, or just plain trial and error.

  1. I like that book. I have a copy from long ago around here someplace.
Those exercises are good for everyone I think.
Keep practicing and you will draw well. it’s like everything else. One of my teachers used to say it was about learning to look – that drawing was mostly looking.
