First seems last-damn snow

First pit pat

and sump sink done

flakes seem to sing

a song of my heart

from where the freeze arises

and douses all warmth

of little which was ever left

you left

one day

as I bled

after a bitter battle

through that door

on which is heaped

the falling snow

and your last bow

I salute winter

it has arrived

to match me

surly sour and dead

this God’s Lad!

You can laugh heartily here by reading these books.
