Revisiting a piece I painted a few years ago, "Luna" ✨?✨ Commissioned by a loving boyfriend of his beautiful girlfriend as a mermaid. This painting is a romantic expression of how he sees her so magically. In the stars of the sky shine both of their constellations, Pisces and Scorpio. Her favorite colors, pink and purple, are reflected in her fin and shells. The large crescent moon and title "Luna" are in honor of being her name. ?✨?✨? Wedding Commission of this beautiful bride @dccassella ? I wanted to capture the angelic glow that a bride radiates on her wedding day. I loved the idea of her descending down a staircase like an angel. I absolutely loved painting this piece, she & her dress was so stunning. It was really such a meditative experience recreating the beading and the sparkling flow of her dress through brush strokes. I wanted to express the love inside of her through the luminous glow of her wedding dress. Should my next seascape be a calm sunset over the water or a wave like this with a sunset? ? I’m really feeling inspired to paint warm colors for my next seascape piece! “Em” the sister painting to “Christine”. When Em saw the painting I created of her older sister Christine, she reached out to me and was just so sweet with how she described how much the artwork moved her. She then bought the painting of “Christine” as a surprise graduation gift for her sister. Time passed, and Christine reached out to commission me to paint her sister Em as a surprise gift for her graduation too! She asked for it to be in a similar style, but include pink morning glories, which are her sister’s favorite flowers. I was so touched with this idea of these two loving sister paintings looking towards each other, showing their similarities and simultaneously their own unique personalities. It was such an amazing opportunity to create this sweet diptych, the story of sisterly love. @christine_h310

“Nadia” Commission Portrait Painting. This beautiful woman from India fell in love with one of my other paintings entitled “River Dancer”, and she decided to commission me to paint a new piece inspired by that one with its own unique flair of herself being the subject in a new dance pose with different paint movements surrounding her. She shares my love for the ocean and its incredible array of blues and greens. Commissioned Painting from loving parents for their son graduating from the same school I graduated from, the University of Pennsylvania. ? This Monet inspired piece depicts a part of the campus called the Bio Pond. It was a part of the school’s grounds that became a special place to escape, recenter and be at peace. "Whale Shark" ? Commissioned by a lovely woman who lives in the Netherlands. She has a big heart for these sharks. It was so wonderful to paint as it helped bring awareness to myself and people around me about how these beautiful, gentle giant sharks are an endangered species. One of the reasons is that they are a big target of commercial fisheries, for one example, the demand for Shark Fin Soup. Finning is a big problem for all types of sharks but the whale sharks are one of the most vulnerable to an extinction risk. Whale Shark means "many stars" or "marokintana," in Madagascar. Let's keep our sea's shining stars safe. ?She wanted this painting to portray a young woman swimming in the shallows with her best friend, a whale shark. I absolutely loved getting to know her through this commission and wanted to share with you an excerpt from her initial message to me that I related so much with: "The thing is, for me, the ocean has always been a place where I could go when I was feeling not quite myself. It's this constant in my life where I can always go if something happens and I need to get back to basics. Kind of like having a great blue friend." ✨??
