Confederate Fall

I call this one Confederate Fall because of the time of year and also because one of the last battles was fought at this spot in South Carolina, I believe. The soldier was one of many who posed at the Civil War Revisited weekends we have in our area. They love to dress up in the authentic uniforms and recreate a significant battle of the Civil War. It is like living history. So I painted it in watercolor, full of bright colors and pathos.

Do you have any suggestions?

    • Thank you. I am obsessed with bright color. I once had a gallery owner tell me she would never hang my work in her gallery because I used TOO MUCH color and no one could decorate around that much color, therefore no one would buy my work. Brutal. Still I paint the way I want not the way she says will sell art!
