Columbus Day (a poem)

What is this day?

A day to celebrate the Italian culture.

He had three ships;

the Pinta,

the Nina,

and the Santa Maria.

Queen Isabella is the one who sent him on his way

to the land, but we should not really forget about

Americo Vespucci, another Italian worth celebrating.

The old saying goes,

In 1492  Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

Thanks to this the United States has many cultures to celebrate

even though this is Italian’s day.
