Serge Poliakoff (1900–1969) was a Russian born French avant-garde painter. Mostly famous for his large oil abstract paintings he painted every day, but supporting his and his quickly growing family by playing Russian folk songs on balalayka in nightclubs in Paris. Now his painting is highly recognised and his artworks are worth millions dollars, Poliakoff’s work is in a very prestigious museums, including the Kunstmuseum Bern, Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin,  Museum of Modern Art, New York, Musée national d’Art moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York,  Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and the Tate Gallery, London.

Blue Yellow Form one of the large abstract painting created during 50’s that contain very powerful static energy of simple colours supported by expressive strokes.Geometric forms are remembering about gothic churches windows filled with sunlight and about especially Russian icons there pure colours are holding very strong geometrical,mosaic composition.
