Art of Norman Lewis at the Museum of Fine Arts

We are in the contemporary wing of the St Pete Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida.  Usually I do not care much for modern art preferring classical styles, but this painting by Norman Lewis was interesting. It was a Subway station in New York City and was painted in 1945. It had shifting perspectives, employed complex patterns and had a varied palette of colors the plaque said. The whole effect was pleasant.
