Thursday Reflections – The Karlskirche

For today “Thursday Reflections” I chose a photo taken last year in Vienna.

This is St. Charles Church (the Karlskirche) the most important baroque religious building in the capital of Austria.

Emperor Charles VI promised to build it in 1713 when the plague hit Vienna, and in 1737 the church was dedicated to St.Charles Borromeo, one of the saints evoked during the plague.
