Panorama of the Senate Chamber of the Michigan State Capitol Building

The Michigan State Capitol Building was built of stone in 1878 in Lansing, Michigan. It houses the legislative branches of the state government including the House of Representatives and the Senate and also the offices of the Governor and Lt Governor.  The interior is no less than fabulous with victorian era decor, stonework and woodwork everywhere. Much of the ornate stonework is actually faux painted wood to look like alabaster and marble which saves both money and weight. In this view we are looking at a panorama of the Senate Chamber with its plush chairs and huge windows. The large paintings at the front accent the chamber as does the beamed beautiful ceiling. This panorama is a stitched compilation of 8 photographs. From this vantage point we are looking downwards from the second floor balcony in the back.
