Lighting at the Michigan State Capitol Building

This is the Michigan State Capitol Building in Lansing, Michigan which was built in 1878. We are touring around inside looking at the architecture and noticing the fabulous marble and wood columns and walls. Looking up we see the incredible lighting here that was probably gas in the early days of the last part of the 1800’s. These amazing light fixtures were all over, but this one had some natural light on it from the dome area. Notice the repeating pattern stenciled on the ceiling and light globes.
