End View of Kentuck Knob by Frank Lloyd Wright

As you walk around the house in Pennsylvania known as “Kentuck Knob” you can see that it is far more than the short looking house from the front. From the end or side you can see it has huge abutments in stone and the edges were far from upright. I thought the end here looked like a cruise ship and was very intimidating in size. Above you can see the balcony we will visit in a bit. The eves above overhang the balcony and you can see the many hexagonal openings that let light through (and rain and snow). The hexagonal shape is seen throughout the house. This house was built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1953-1956 in the “Usonian Style” and Wright was 86 when he completed the house, his last.
