Clover Hill Tavern at Appomattox Court House

At the famous Appomattox Court House National Historic Park in Virginia we are touring around the various houses in the abandoned village. This is where on April 9, 1865 General Robert E. Lee surrendered with his army to General Grant of the Union Army ending the Civil War. This is the oldest building in the park and called the Clover Hill Tavern.  The tavern was built in 1819.
