Therapy dog program is useful at a hospital in Florida

This program of having therapy dogs coming to visit the patients at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach Florida is a new program that at this time has seven volunteers who bring in their dogs to cheer up the patients twice a week.

As a lot of people know, dogs are man and woman’s best friend with their brand of unconditional love toward anyone who showers a dog with love.

Medical reports that have come on television and on the internet report give the details that when a patient has a companion who give them love or an encouraging word, the patient feels better since positive feelings to the brain of the patient improve the health of a patient in need.

It is a great idea by the powers that be at the Good Samaritan Medical Center to have the patients spend some time with the therapy dogs for a short period of time so the patient feels a reason to keep on living a full and happy life.

My wish is that more hospitals around the world would adopt the idea of having therapy dogs as part of the healing process with patients who are in need of human as well as support from dogs or other animals that can provide one way to speed up the healing process for patients that are suffering from illness and or injuries.

      • My daughter and I actually were on the waiting list for the service dog school in Chicago. Dogs that don’t or can’t for some reason finish the training are sold to people on the waiting list.

They don’t fail often, we ended up getting a dog from a breeder in Ft. Wayne Indiana, but we were on that list.
