Still Walking With Elk

It’s a busy day and it keeps getting interrupted. I am working. I am writing and mentally I am getting ready for the trip down the mountain. My brother keeps coming down to let me know he can see some elk.  Can’t I just stop and look. No, I have to work, but take a picture and we’ll look at them later. He’s not loving the answer.

I am making this post so that perhaps he will know I am thinking of him as I work.

  1. These are many noble animals. The red deer is a valuable hunted object, which is being cared for and its population maintained. Normally hunters are allowed to hunt only for a short period of time. An exception is the recruit hunting, which aims to maintain the good condition of the population and the quality of the hereditary material. The hunting trophy is his horn.

    • On the one-year specimens the horns are very small and underdeveloped, they have one, maximum two branches, the second year can be six. With age, the horns become bigger, stronger and branched. A maximum is reached around the tenth year when their branches can reach 24 or more in number.
