Puppy rescued from a frozen lake in Wisconsin by a firefighter

A puppy whose gender and identity was not revealed had this small accident by getting away from its owner and falling between the frozen waters of the Shawano Lake and Wolf River in Shawano Wisconsin on a Friday afternoon a couple of weeks ago.

The owner of the puppy managed to contact the Shawano Fire Department when volunteer firefighter William Mott answered the call of duty to attempt to rescue the puppy who was struggling to stay afloat for a period of 15 minutes by using its skills of treading water to stay afloat.

Mott admits that he and his firefighters teammates train very hard to hone their skills in rescuing both humans and animals from frozen bodies of water.

In the case of attempting to rescue a puppy like in this case, Mott admitted that trying to rescue a puppy is hard since animals are very hard to predict what type of reaction they will answer to a stranger who attempts to rescue them.

However in this case, the puppy did cooperate with Mott to be rescued and reunite with its owner who is pictured hugging the puppy as soon as Mott was able to use his fireman rescue skills to save the life of a puppy that for some strange reason does not know the dangers of entering icy bodies of water.
