New tenants in the Belgrade Zoo

Recently, Mrs. Barbara Hart Radisavljevic wrote an interesting post about the alpacas.Yesterday, the Belgrade Zoo became richer for another two Alpacas. So far, they had lama Guanaco. The light Alpaca is a male, while the beauty of brown hair is a new girl in the Garden. They still do not have a name, but when they get used to a new life at Kalemegdan, they will find some suitable ones for them.

Animals came to our capital from Ljubljana (Slovenia) as part of the exchange with their Zoo garden. So from Belgrade, a couple of red kangaroos will be sent to Slovenia.

In addition, the new Zoo residents are also a couple of capybars, rodents about 130 cm long and weighing about 60 kg.

  1. The alpacas are adorable. Kalemegdan must certainly have changed a lot since 2072 when I was there with my husband. I don’t remember a zoo at all back then. When my high school friend who moved to Serbia a few years ago sends photos now, it has a more beautiful parklike look than I remember. I just remember the ruins of the fort. But the cities I’ve lived in here myself have changed now so that I hardly recognize them, and we didn’t even have a war here.
