Meet Newt. This fearless cat is my rescue pet. Left by the road as a young kitten I happened upon him by accident. He was just a plaintive cry in the woods.
I was on a walk over a mile from home on a back road. I pulled him out of the weeds and held him up. I thought he was a female so I named him Newt after Sigourney Weaver’s sidekick in Aliens.
Before long I discovered this kitten is a he and not a she. On June 1, 2014 we celebrated Newt’s adoption. He’s grown into a fine young cat, wouldn’t you agree?
Please spay and neuter your pets to prevent this type discard of a pet.

I never had a rescue pet.
He actually found me. I’ve lived in rural areas and have had a rescue dog or two that were abandoned.
