I wrote about an experience of going camping with a guy who’d never been around wildlife and who was in a near panic when he heard coyotes hunting and teaching their pups to hunt. I thought I’d share some of the sounds that coyotes make because it is one of my favorite sounds of the forest.
When I played this video in preparation for posting, my little dog had much the same reaction my camping friend had when he heard the coyotes up close. My dog didn’t know what to think, so she immediately came to me for protection.
We used to hear the coyotes before all the houses were built behind us.
Laying in bed a few nights ago, I heard coyotes. 🙂
