I am sure you have heard of the saying “Good things comes to those who wait.” In the case of a female dog named Cassie who came to the Humane Society of Dayton in Ohio on August 9, 2017 when her former owners decided they could not afford to keep her. there was a ray of hope that one day a loving family would adopt the dog once again.
Talk about heartbreak if you were in Cassie’s coat that for the next year and a half, many families would come t adopt Cassie at the animal shelter only to have her returned by the owners of Cassie who for some unknown reason decided to return her back to the shelter.
I do not know if the Humane Society of Dayton Ohio has a no kill policy concerning the dogs and cats that they keep in their workplace, but after a long time of Cassie finding a home with an owner who would keep her for the rest of Cassie’s days, the dream came true recently when a young lady saw Cassie and she decided to adopt the dog at last.
As anyone who works inside an animal shelter knows the fact is when a dog that was inside a shelter for a long period of time and finally finds a new home, the employees of the shelter shed tears of sadness since one of their favorite pets find a new home at last with a new owner while leaving pleasant memories of her time with the employees who took her of Cassie.
The approximate time that Cassie was inside the Humane Society of Dayton was around 565 days before she found a loving owner whose name was not released by the employees of the shelter.
That is true since Burt has this habit of running outside when the door is open.
So glad they held her until she could find a forever home.
I am also happy that Cassie has found a new home.
You have a good point since some cats in my neighborhood are free birds.
good for you Cassie, now go play fetch
I agree with you. Cassie can now find happiness in her new home.
it was all she ever wanted
Every dog and cat that had time living inside a shelter wants to find a loving home.
I dunno, some of those cats could be feral and just want to be running around free…
What a cute dog! I’m glad she was adopted!
Cassie looks familiar to me but I cannot remember seeing a dog like her in my family that was adopted by us.
